On the 31th of October, Gene, Betsy, Sandy and I hiked in the BLACK DIAMOND MINES REGIONAL PARK . The park consists of more than 5,000 acres and is part of the East Bay Regional Park District which is located in the eastern portion of the San Francisco Bay Area. On the trail we met Gary Fraser who was doing his morning run. Gary graciously hiked with us for a while and pointed out many interesting features of this historical area. TRAIL MAP (PDF format) of the park.
